Teachers of Tomorrow
The Teachers of Tomorrow program helps to cultivate young artists who have a passion for teaching. By elevating their creativity, and fusing it with pedagogical tools and techniques, these young people will be prepared to lead the arts classrooms of our future.
GEMS-Girls Exquisitely Melanated
GEMS is a mentoring and programming initiative for young Black girls that offers a comprehensive range of services, including one-on-one mentoring from successful Black women in the community, group workshops focused on topics such as leadership development, career exploration, and self-care, creative expression activities, such as art therapy, storytelling, and music, and access to resources and networks to support academic and personal growth. Central to the program are a series of social-emotional activities designed to promote self-awareness, resilience, and emotional intelligence. These activities will include guided discussions on topics such as identity, belonging, and empowerment, mindfulness exercises to cultivate self-reflection and stress management, and team-building activities to foster trust, collaboration, and communication.Participants will also have frequent opportunities to engage in leadership development and mentoring through mentorship from successful Black women who will provide guidance, support, and inspiration, taking on leadership roles within the program, such as peer mentors or event organizers, and skill-building workshops focused on communication, problem-solving, and goal-setting
